STR’s newest junior development signing, young Adam, made World Tour selectors gasp when he mercilessly crushed the hopes and dreams of C Grade at SKCC this morning. He attacked early and held off the bunch for a glorious solo victory. In tears as he crossed the line, Adam pointed to the sky and thanked Vinyāsa, the sacred spirit animal of the adjacent Port Melbourne Rubbish Tip. We’re not sure exactly sure why he did that, or his relationship with Vinyāsa, but the kids these days are pretty wild so we’ll let it slide.
StayTrue Racing Junior Development High Performance Executive Director (S.T.R.J.D.H.P.E.D) Lee Turner commented: “I discovered Adam and I take all credit for this victory. He is nothing without me.”
Well done Adam, what a great way to win!
Our friend Hugo brought his owner, Costa, to the race for a visit….
And the Women’s feature race featured another devastating sprint by Liv Giant’s Nicole (aka Black Caviar, far right in the below photo).
It was also Jo Hogan’s (the healthiest of healthy cyclists) last Australian race of this season as she flies off to Spain tonight for 7 months of racing. Amy, to her right, is off to Belgium in March for the season as well. Hannah, left, only has Melbourne’s bleak winter to look forward to. You can tell from Hannah’s facial expression that she is actually thinking about doing North Road in July when it’s 4 degrees. Unlucky Hannah.
